my pastor told this story at church on sunday.

there was once this man who was really rich and owned everything there was to own on earth. one day, he was told the news that he was going to die. having no children, and not willing to leave his riches behind, he prayed hard to God to be allowed to bring some of his things with him when he dies. God agreed to let him bring along one 'carry-on' bag. Delighted, the man went and got the biggest bag he could find and stuffed it to the brim with gold bars.
When he died, he arrived at the gates of Heaven, and St Peter was surprised to see him with a bag, so he checked it with God. After finding out what the reason, St Peter agreed to let the man in with the bag, but only after checking it. When he opened the bag, his eyes opened wide seeing all the gold bars. Finally he looked up and said "You brought pavements?!!"

pretty meaningful huh? all the riches here on earth in no way lets us imagine what kinds of treasures God has in store for us in Heaven. how wonderful is that?
